As part of their Perfect Sunday initiative, The Sunday Times Culture (Print and Online) have teamed up with First Light to invite young filmmakers to show us what constitutes a perfect Sunday. This competition hopes to find the filmmaking talent of the future.
The First Light Award in association with The Sunday Times Culture is looking for submissions of short films that look at what makes a Sunday the best day of the week. Staying in bed, reading the papers, relaxing with the family… any of these could feature. It’s completely up to you, as long you are aged between 14 and 24 and your film has a maximum running time of 2 minutes.
The three best films entered into the competition will be screened on our website at the end of February, where we will give the public the opportunity to vote for their favourite films. The film with the most votes will be announced as the winner of the competition!
The shortlisted filmmakers will be invited to attend the star-studded First Light Awards 2011 taking place at The Odeon, Leicester Square, on 15th March 2011, where the lucky winner will be announced and presented with their prestigious award.
Last year’s event was attended by Bill Nighy, Sir Ian McKellen, Gemma Arterton and James Corden amongst others, who all presented awards.
